General Admission and Application Requirements

To be admitted to Valley Grande Institute for Academic Studies, a student must meet at least one of the following requirements and demonstrate his or her ability to pay the required tuition and fees.

  1. Must be high school graduate; or
  2. Must have successfully completed the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma (GED); or
  3. Be beyond the competency age of attendance as set by the State of Texas, and demonstrate the ability to benefit from an educational program, by taking the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. Prospective students must obtain a minimum score on this exam to meet the entrance requirements, Verbal-200; Quantitative-210.

Tuition, Fees and Other Charges

  1. Tuition includes the cost, of certain lab supplies, malpractice insurance if applicable, equipment and facilities usage, training and administrative costs.
  2. Students who receive credit due to prior education or successfully passing a placement exam will receive credit toward tuition.
  3. Students will be responsible for certain expendable supplies such as textbooks, workbooks, uniforms, paper pens, pencils and other items necessary for training.
  4. Students may be required to pay for lost or damaged items that are issued for use only and scheduled to be returned to the school. Students who are issued items should check the condition of such items before accepting them. Students will be allowed 20 days following the completion of their courseware to return or pay for such items. Failure to do so will result in the cost of these items being added to the student's account.
  5. Specific exams may be recommended by the school for students to take with State, Federal or other agencies , in order to enhance their employability. The cost of said exams is the students responsibility and is not included in the tuition cost.
  6. Tuition cost is subject to the school's refund policy.
  7. Cost of cap and gown purchase, or rental, for graduation ceremonies, if applicable, is the responsibility for the student and is not included in the tuition cost. The school will assist students in obtaining the cap and gown.
